Why Screen for Risk of Learning Failure?
Even before entering Grade 1, there may be indications of a potential learning challenge at some time in the future. If these issues can be flagged, they can either be addressed immediately, or monitored to ensure that early intervention can take place. Children develop and mature at different rates, and it can offer peace of mind to know if there are any areas of concern.
Other Forms of Screening
A Psychometrist is not permitted to make any diagnoses of any Neurodevelopmental Conditions, Specific Learning Disorders, or Psychological Disorders. They can, however, undertake screening to determine whether further investigation is needed or work in collaboration with an Educational Psychologist who is qualified to diagnose.
